Abstract

The BRICS bloc has become, for many authors, one of the most important organizations that have emerged after the end of the Cold War. Acting as a forum for discussion designed to address financial issues, it has become an aggregate that rivals western economies and a platform for the formulation of a new geopolitical framework in an increasingly multipolar order. Of course, the block is not free from complex internal dynamics, which offer an immense analytical potential according to the levels envisaged. In order to describe the functioning of BRICS, and raise questions about its future, this paper is structured as follows: first, it will discuss the current world order, and the views that prevail in academic debate. Then, we will interpret the place of BRICS within this very same order, by analyzing it inside the organization itself, through the different dynamics that attract it-san, as well as the place of the block in the international order from the International Relations Schools.
