The Argentina and the Malvinas issue
A tour of Argentina's foreign policy regarding the Malvinas
Abstract
This essay proposes a reflective and historical analysis of Argentine foreign policy regarding the Malvinas Islands from a constructivist perspective. The central role that ideas, values and narratives play in the configuration of diplomatic strategies after the war conflict of 1982 is highlighted. This approach allows us to understand how social representations and collective identities have shaped the Argentine position regarding the sovereignty of the islands, linking it closely with nationalism and historical memory.
