An approach to the existing relations between neighborhood identity and socio-territorial integration in the La Calera neighborhood of Villa María in 2022

Abstract

This paper will attempt to make an approximation to the existing relations between neighborhood identity and socio-territorial integration in the La Calera neighborhood in 2022. It will seek to understand how the structural characteristics of the neighborhood determine the social construction of its identity and condition the process of socio-territorial integration. In this way, the objectives will be to characterize the neighborhood geographically, through non-participant observation and virtual ethnography, secondly to describe the process of land seizure carried out in July 2009 in the neighborhood and, finally, to analyze the neighborhood identity of the neighbors, the latter approached from the realization of semi-structured interviews and preparation of cognitive maps to neighbors. This work will be approached from a qualitative methodology, within the framework of the comprehensive paradigm, and with a non-experimental and descriptive design. Based on the methodological strategy used in this research, we will seek to answer the following question: What are the characteristics and relationships between neighborhood identity and socio-territorial integration in the La Calera neighborhood of the City of Villa María in 2022?
